About the College

Building the Nation through Education

GTEC is a public teacher’s education institution, opened in 2005 and managed on behalf of the Ministry of Education by a board of governors. The College is legally and officially recognized and endorsed by the regional government. GTEC is committed to making a meaningful contribution to the development of Somalia through offering comprehensive and relevant teacher education and training programmes. The college continues to enjoy wide support from the local community as well as local and international partners. Over the past fifteen years GTEC has trained more than 5000 teachers with many of its graduates working in primary and secondary schools across Puntland State of Somalia and beyond.
